A Day in the Life......

Last week gave us the gift of some much needed down time.  We had been very busy the week before with special meeting at church.  Scot Jeffrey finished reading another book!!  We also enjoyed getting to work on some special projects as we finish up the school year.  It's hard to believe Scot J will be in second grade and Jenna will be starting kindergarten!

On Tuesday Jenna enjoyed washing all her baby doll clothes by hand and hanging them out to dry on a little clothes line. :) She loves all things domestic :)

Andrew and Benjamin were busy being Andrew and Benjamin. :)

Together all the boys enjoyed a Saturday evening of frog catching.  My job was to hold the flashlight.

Emmie has been growing every moment and has started "talking" to us more.  The kids enjoy competing to see who can get her to laugh more.

What a wonderful family I have been blessed with.  I don't want to take one moment for granted.  Although the days seem long sometimes this time is passing by so quickly.  I want to enjoy each day with these precious gifts.

Count your blessings, name them one by one; count your many blessings, see what God hath done.  This has always been one of my favorite hymns.  I have been trying to live each day counting those blessings.
Last October we once again left the states to begin our third term on the mission field.  The last nine months have been filled with what many would call discouragements (myself included).  Over and over again my wonderful husband has encouraged me to look for those blessings.  On some of those days I had to look really REALLY hard.  They were always there though.  Sometimes coming in the form of being able to swim in the hotel pool while our house was being sprayed for bed  bugs.  Or being able to thank Him for really clean window screens after we were hit with a category five cyclone.  Yet some days it is being able to sit on the couch and read chapter after chapter out of our newest living book and remind ourselves why we have chosen to homeschool.
I have been learning over and over that I have to purposefully seek out those blessings no matter how big or small they may seem.  Is this a lesson I have mastered?  Absolutely not, but it is one that I am striving to do better with the Lords help.  Life is too short.  We are not promised another day.  The day will come when I will not have a home or hands that are full of little ones.  I want to make the most of every day with them.  I am so blessed to have a husband who puts God first.

I am so blessed to have a seven year old little boy who wants nothing more than to see his younger brothers and sister saved and who willing changes the babies diapers.

I am so blessed to have a five year old little girl who wants to do everything just like mama.

I am so blessed to have a three year old and a two year little boys who love to play together and have such a special bond.

I am so blessed to have our sweet  Emmie who just loves to be talked to and smiled at.
The blessings truly have been more than I could number.  It is through this blog that I hope to share with you a peek into just how great our God is.
